Multi-Site Hosting Migration
Migration as an engineering project
A hosting migration is a coordinated production change, not a file-copy task. It requires inventory, dependency awareness, backups, DNS timing, certificate setup, email preservation, application compatibility, stakeholder communication, and post-cutover verification.
Scope
At Brand Iron Marketing, I led the movement of more than 30 WordPress client sites into a new hosting environment. I managed or supported A, CNAME, TXT, and MX records; SSL/TLS; email routing; backups; redirects; plugin compatibility; caching; and post-launch troubleshooting.
Validation
Each cutover required browser and mobile checks, form testing, analytics verification, redirect validation, certificate checks, and monitoring for issues that only appeared under the production server configuration.
What this demonstrates
The project is evidence of operational judgment: sequencing risky changes, preserving service continuity, communicating status clearly, and diagnosing differences between local, staging, and production environments.
